Homemade Popsicles to Make with the Kids

The heat is on! It is that time of year that kids love nothing more than a frozen ice pop to quench their thirst after playing outside. Here are few easy peasy recipes to make.  The kids can help out or you can take 5-10 minutes to make them during nap time. Of course you can go to the store and buy popsicles, but making these will save money, give you a healthier option (no artificial colors and yucky ingredients), and provide a fun little activity to do together. After all, your favorite chefs likely got started in their family kitchen. We want to keep this as easy as possible so the measurements just depend on how many you are making and the size of your molds. As you can see in the photo our molds are small. A lot of recipes call for you to add sugar and to puree the blends. You can do that but I like these because the kids can see and taste yummy chucks of fruit and it saves you a step. There will be some suggestions for other combinations at the end of the article if you wanted to puree. I use the ice pop molds from IKEA but you can find them at most grocery stores or home stores.
