Our ABC Kids Expo Adventure

Summary: WiFi Baby attends the ABC Kids Expo in Vegas. Check out the best reviewed iPhone, iPad and Android baby monitor, pics of our booth and new baby products.

Our company is 5 years old, but this year was the first time we decided to exhibit at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas to premier our latest 4th gen model. If you haven’t heard of this event, it is the largest kids and baby industry trade show in the Western Hemisphere. Additionally, if you have the lowest grade baby fever, it’s sure to become a full-blown attack once attending.

ABC is the “prime time” of the baby industry.  Large manufacturers along with boutique companies debut the latest and greatest products. Baby and child retailers, both large and small, are looking to stock stores with tried and true gear along with new and innovative items. After years of improving our product and customizing our app, this was the year the WiFi Baby team was ready to present.

WiFi Baby on display at the convention center

The atmosphere at the convention center was nothing short of invigorating. We were able to demo and explain our product to a large audience. Learning about other companies’ stories and relating to other entrepreneurs gave us a feeling of connection. Being surrounded by passion and innovation inspired us to keep plugging away at our own mission. Our goal in being a part of ABC Kids Expo was to grow our brand and see WiFi Baby on the shelves at a baby store near you. We are committed to constant improvements in our technology and customer service. Our customers are the reason we do what we do, and we know how important it is for them to safely stay connected to their little ones. From home or across the globe.

The days were long and we worked hard but we took time to walk the floor.  It was fun to visit our favorite companies and meet new ones too. You’ve probably seen a lot of buzz on the new strollers, but we wanted to bring you some of the lesser known brands from the show.  Here are some things we loved at ABC and couldn’t wait to bring home and show you.  They are already making life a little easier.

Let the tour begin…

As a mom of a 2 and 5 year old, we are at the in between sippy cups and “real” cups stage at our home.  I loved these Silikids straw top covers.   My son usually spills or his little sister knocks over his drinks, so these are perfect for keeping everything in the cup.  Easy to wash and take on the go too!

Silikids had a cool display and the staff was so great to talk to.

Since we were out of town for the show, we wanted to surprise our children with a couple gifts upon our return.   We are arts and craftsy in our home so dad picked out this awesome “Create your own dragon kit” from  Seedling. (Soleil Moon Frye aka Punky Brewster is one of the partners in the company)

We can’t wait to get to work on it.  I’m already thinking of how many Christmas gifts I can get from Seedling, there are so many great kits to choose from.

Another awesome company we discovered is EQtainment.
Their mission is to improve emotional intelligence  by creating fun and simple tools for practicing social skills and better behavior.   The card game and coloring book is such a great way for preschoolers and little kids to understand feelings and how their behavior affects relationships.  In today’s culture there is so much research on how a person’s emotional intelligence determines success in life, rather than “brainy” intelligence…this is a great tool for parents to help with this growth.

All this walking has given us sore feet.  Let’s take a break at the Monte Design
booth.  A luxury brand for modern parents, their furniture is beautiful, comfortable, and sustainable.  My sister swears by her Monte rocker for BF-ing and cuddles.

Another new favorite we met is Canadian company Fluf and their beautifully designed organic cotton storage bins, lunch bags, and snack packs.  Ever since my kids started preschool, I’m all about reusable snack bags. They save money and teach kids about recycling and sustainability.  These are adorable, well made, and are machine washable.  I picked up some snack bags for the kids.

There is no “fluff” in Fluf, it’s the real deal

One of the best parts of the show was being surrounded by so many entrepreneurial people and hearing the individual stories on how problems inspired their products.  Here is the creator of SuperUndies
She created a super cool training pant for potty training and bed wetting.   If you know me, you know that I can.not.wait for diapers to be out of our house.  I immediately put this one on my 2 year old daughter.  She loves the pretty design.  I love the outcome.

I would recommend these for disposable or cloth diapering moms.  They also make them for children with special needs to make life a little easier.

Last on our list, but no least are the awesome backpacks, lunch boxes and cooler bags from the beautifully modern lifestyle brand, SoYoung .

Having the last name Fox has its perks and I’m always loving products to display our name pride.  I first pinned their robot bag over 3 years ago, so I was beyond ecstatic when I saw them on the show floor.  Seriously I couldn’t stop hugging Lilian, their marketing guru, when I knew I would be going home with some SoYoung fox swag.   These are definitely not just for kids, I love using the large cooler bag to take my lunch to the office.

If you are in the market for a diaper bag, you should definitely check out their new collection.

I hope you had fun on our little tour of the ABC Kids Expo and hearing about our experience. We are looking forward to next year, but in the meantime the real work has just begun.
